======================================
Just had the chance of watching this film yesterday even though it was shown in Thailand way back in 2003. And I was intrigued with this film since then.
Being a woman like Parinya trapped in a man's body is so hard. She needed to fight like a man in order for her take good care of her family and will do the sex change if she still has money left. I really admire her for being a family-oriented and still seeking her parent's blessing before she will undergo the sex change operation.
Also, the first song of the film really struck me. This is the song that made Parniya decided to become a woman in the future. Here's the part of the song:
"Even though I was born a gentle girl
I will never let anyone intimidate me
I will fight like a man without fear
Until my last breath"
I will never let anyone intimidate me
I will fight like a man without fear
Until my last breath"
This is really indeed a beautiful film, an eye-opener to those people who still discriminate transvetites/transgenders like Parinya. You should watch it.
